Savolainen and Teini claim victories on day 2

Eetu Savolainen (Ikaalisten Nouseva-Voima) claimed victory in the men’s elite class on the second day of the Salla Fin5 Orienteering Week. Topi Syrjäläinen (Helsingin Suunnistajat) finished second, 58 seconds behind Savolainen, while Topias Arola (IFK Göteborg) placed third, 1 minute and 31 seconds off the winning time.

After two stages, Syrjäläinen leads the overall standings by 10 seconds ahead of Savolainen. Olli Ojanaho (Helsingin Suunnistajat), who finished fourth in today’s race, is third overall.

In the women’s elite class, Marika Teini (Kalevan Rasti) won Tuesday’s middle-distance race with a time of 32:52. Venla Taulavuori (Tampereen Pyrintö) took second place, finishing 53 seconds behind Teini, while Eeva-Liina Ojanaho (Ounasvaaran Hiihtoseura) was third in 34:21.

Despite finishing sixth today, Elisa Mattila (Kalevan Rasti) continues to lead the overall standings after two stages. Eeva-Liina Ojanaho is second overall, and Milja Väätäjä (Paimion Rasti), who placed seventh in today’s race, holds third place in the overall competition.
