The competition center is about 4km south of Sallatunturi. There is no car park at the competition center (exceptions are made for people with disabilities). Cars, motorhomes and busses can be parked at the school in Salla and at the sports center in Sallatunturi. Tickets for parking can be bought at the Information Desk in the competition center.
Next to the main road is a shared pedestrian/cycle lane from Salla city, through Sallatunturi and to the competition center. Bicycles can be rented from Wilderness Park, Sallatunturin Tuvat and Salla Ski & Active. Please leave your bike at the bicycle parking on the north side of the competition center.
Don’t want to walk or cycle? During race days, there are bus services from the School center in Salla to the competition center and back; and from Sallatunturi to the competition center and back. In Sallatunturi you can hop on the bus at the sportcenter (bus stop located on the opposite side of Sallatunturintie, at the yard of the city heating building) and at the crossing of Hautajarventie and Revontulentie. These bus stops are marked with a FIN5 sign, so you know you are at the right bus stop. Tickets for the bus can be bought at the Competition Information Desk. And yes, it’s okay to take the bus to the competition center and then buy the ticket. 🙂

Be careful when you hop on the bus at the competition center. There are 3 busses going to Sallatunturi and one bus to Salla. The bus to Salla is named ‘Salla’. The other busses are named Naruska, Tuntsa and Vilma. Make sure you jump in the correct one!
And our bus drivers kindly ask you not to wear spiked shoes in the bus.

On Wednesday there is an extra bus service for shopping (€14pp(twoway)). The bus will leave from Wilderness Park, then stop at Sallatunturin Tuvat, Holiday Club, Sallainen and the shops in Salla city center before going back the same way. The bus leaves from Wilderness park at 10 and 14, and will return usually about 2 sometimes 3 hours later. It depends on how much time people need for shopping…
