On the third day of competition, Touko Seppä of Turun Suunnistajat emerged as the somewhat surprising winner of the men’s race. Seppä kept his composure over the closing legs and secured victory in a thrilling battle decided on the final two legs of the course. Eetu Savolainen of IKNV finished second, just three seconds behind the winner. Topi Syrjäläinen of HS placed third, nine seconds off the winning time.
The women’s race saw a victory for Eeva-Liina Ojanaho of Ounasvaaran Hiihtoseura, who claimed the win by six seconds ahead of Marika Teini from Kalevan Rasti. Third place went to Elisa Mattila, also representing Kalevan Rasti, who finished 22 seconds behind the winner.
